Stop using fossil fuels, switch to one of the other abundant sources of fuel the earth affords us. Maybe kill less cows. Turn lights off. Proper education on how to lessen your footprint.
Ignorance/Hate- The product of poor education and mistreatment of young people. They then carry this with them and it propagates.
Education from a young age. Not having kids if you aren't ready to put their growth and proper education above your own. Spread love especially to people that are angry and lashing out.
Hunger- When people don't have food
Stop taxing countries for their food yield. Allow everyone to grow their own food and sell it with minimal politics to have to work around. Distribute food and wealth in a more responsible way.
Lack of access to clean water- When people cant drink clean water or even water that looks clean. A basic human right that is suppressed for money.
Work on ways to purify salt water. Work on ways to distribute water or purification systems to poorer countries.
Mass Extinction of species- A phenomena cause by humans and our rapidly worsening treatment of the world leading to drastic changes that are difficult for many species to keep up with.
Stop acting like the planet is ours. Be responsible and stop throwing our dangerous toys around like children. Take only what we need. Learn to share.
Racism- Tailored ignorance, a belief that melanin differences hold any ground as to who a person is.
This deserves a seperate categorization from general hate. This is learned in individual family units and as a result will be difficult to unlearn. But proper education and encouragement to spread the idea can wipe it out over time. Complacency is dangerous.
Mistreatment of animals- Purposefully causing suffering to living creatures in order to slightly increase the yield or cost effectiveness of the yield of whatever we deign to harvest from them.
Stop torturing and raping animals before eating them. Or at least let people know whats going on on farms and let them make educated choices.
How we aren't going into space- People being too focused on monetary gain and control on our planet to focus resources on exploring a universe that could yield amazing advancements.
Stop being afraid of getting wiped out. Stop being afraid of allocating resources for something other than war and short term gain. Change our mindset to be forward thinking self serving organisms.
Deforestation - Killing trees for money and power. Displacing animals from their homes. Humans too.
Use the abundance of land that is not covered in trees for industry. Lessen dependency on paper. recycle more. protest companies that do this with reckless abandon and assume there will be no consequence.
Rape culture and ignoring it- Pretending that the treatment of woman by certain undesirables is in any way related to the individual herself and her actions or appearance.
Educate kids. Call out people who do this. Don't be silent. take affirmative action and make the behavior be represented in media properly, as disgusting and inexcusable.
Hi Brian! Nice list of world problems.
ReplyDeleteWe had a few similar ones (like hunger and lack of clean water), but you also brought up a few I didn't even think about! For example, I agree that we should go explore Space, and I also think that deforestation is an important issue to include in this list. By the way, I am glad I wasn't the only one to mention the problem of animal extinction!
If you have the chance, take a look at my blog post! http://memazal.blogspot.com/2016/01/we-didnt-start-fire-worlds-biggest.html
Cheers!
We actually shared 3 common issues which where climate change, hunger and racism. We also had a few others in common but phrased a different way. It is amazing to me that we are still battling with racism as an issue. Great picture of the Donald.
