Top Five World Problems

List One:
1.) Lack of access to clean water. This is a basic Human need. The most basic. It needs to be addressed for the people to have enough energy to go about their individual lives, which would then benefit all of society in ways no one can understand since all this potential brilliance is being starved out.
2.) Hunger. A close contender to water, but the same area of importance. The same implications.
3.) Ignorance/hate. "The biggest problem in the universe is no one helps each other"-Anakin Skywalker, episode one.
4.)Climate Change. This can only still be reversed for a small time longer. It'd be nice to have a planet still.
5.) Mistreatment of animals. Animals are living things. We cant stop at just treating people right, for the people to be happy and ok with themselves love has to be spread indefinitely, and to everything, sentient or not. Sentient is a good place to start.

List Two
1.) Literally just start allocating resources for space travel. It's as simple as a redirection of interest. Stop fighting each other and fight the unknown. That's what most of us are really scared of anyway.
2.) Use land not covered in bush for industry. Lessen dependence on paper. It's also a simple transition and a lessening of greed that would improve the quality of life for everyone, even those who lose monetary benefits from implementing it.
3.) Get clean water to people. Water isn't too difficult to purify anymore. It isn't too difficult to get a hold of. With some organization, we could get it to the places where it is difficult to get a hold of.
4.)Get food, and food that wont kill them, to people. Food can be stored inexpensively in third world countries thanks to improvements in technology. Now just to get it there.
5.) Educate people on rape culture and how silence is just as bad as being an aggressor. Complacency is dangerous. Education is not too difficult of a task, show people the benefits of not being a bad person, and many will fall in line.

  2. Brian,

Your list is very similar to mine in the fact that you center out aspects of poverty as the largest issues our world faces. One issue that I find extremely interesting is your number 5, the mistreatment of animals. I completely agree in the fact that every living being needs to be treated with love and respects regardless of type. The way we treat our fellow living beings is a major issue. Here’s my list:
